Before the war began, Israelis mobilized in the streets to demonstrate against the government and proposed judicial reforms. Once the war began, those protests continued and shifted focused to call for the release of hostages from Gaza.

24 hours after the 10/7 attack, the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah got directly involved in the war, launching rockets and drones from southern Lebanon.
